Steve Di Fruscia, Dura’s co-founder, won 2018 Canada-China Business Excellence Award.

Canada China Business Council recognizes Steve Di Fruscia, Dura’s co-founder, with a 2018 Canada-China Business Excellence Awards.

“As CCBC celebrates its 40th year in 2018, we are keenly aware that the future of Canada-China business depends on executives of all ages understanding China’s role in global growth.  CCBC’s 6th Canada-China Business Excellence Awards included a new category: Young Entrepreneurs. Encouraging young Canadians to diversify business to include China is imperative for Canada’s future prosperity.  When CCBC was established in 1978, no one could predict how far China’s economy would come. This category recognizes entrepreneurs who have come of age during China’s opening and reform period, who have created dynamic businesses that include China in their global strategy.  These companies have a founder, president, CEO, or chairman who is 40 years of age or younger in 2018.

Steve Di Fruscia is one of the young entrepreneurs who was recognized at the awards ceremony on October 3.  In 2013 at the age of 31, Steve became the president & CEO of Tianco Group, a real estate and investment company backed by one of China’s biggest real estate developers.  Tianco has so far invested $350m across Canada, toward a goal of a billion dollars.

Steve’s personal and professional activities keep him at the center of a “Canada-China joint venture” in everything he does.   He has devoted his career to better understanding China, keeping up with the fast pace of change in China, and overcoming challenges to build a successful business that links Chinese capital to Canadian economic opportunities, creating more value for both sides.  Congratulations to Steve for his success and for the recognition that this award brings to him and Tianco Group!”
